Life Isn’t A Box of Crayons

09/29/2018

I believe you need four things in life; God, coffee, your favorite fur baby, and art.

God is an important part of my life, the most important part actually. He has gotten me through things I know I wouldn’t have been able to have gotten through without Him. Because of Him, I have lost friends, but because of Him, I have gained better friends. He has shown me that his timing is the best timing and that I need to trust Him. For the most part, I do my Bible reading at night because… well, I’m gonna be honest, it helps me sleep. Now, going to sleep is not the only reason I read The Bible, I read it to gain more knowledge about God and my relationship with His Son. I have dedicated my life to Christ mainly because He is the only reason I am alive.

I get up in the morning and the first thing I do is weigh myself because my mom and I are doing the Keto diet (even though you shouldn’t weigh yourself everyday, but it helps) then I go get coffee. I need coffee to function, to keep me from being grouchy all day. My mom always jokes about how much creamer I would put in my coffee. “Would you like coffee with that creamer?” “No, I’m good” I would say. I’m a HUGE creamer person, as in the flavored creamers. Especially peppermint mocha <3 I could live off of that stuff! There is this coffee shop called Cabin Fever Roasters in Douglasville, GA that is AMAZING!!! If you are in the area, GO THERE!!!!! You will not be disappointed!!!!!! At least if you are a coffee drinker…. But they have tea and food as well. Haven’t had their food but it sure looks good. As you can tell, coffee is one of my many weaknesses.

My fur baby is a Boston Terrier mix named Goliath. He is one feisty dog, with a HUGE personality. He is always on GO-mode. When he wants to stop, he about plows into the wall or the fireplace. He has no chill. He goes 0-100000000 in 3 seconds. Don’t even get me started on when he wants a c-thing (cookie). He won’t stop barking. It drives my mom and I nuts! He loves to play ball, and to antagonize our other 2 dogs Sampson and Maya. When he starts playing with Maya, he jumps sideways and backwards when she goes for him. We think he is part cat and part gremlin because when you get him wet, he goes crazy, and no feeding after midnight! Even though he gets treats before bed. But you didn’t hear that from me.

Art has always been a part of my life, from little crafts to writing like I’m writing this blog. Photography, Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, you name it, I have probably done it. I would have to say, Ceramics is my favorite art medium. It is messy and fun and you can also release stress and anger onto the clay by beating the crap out of it. The joy of Ceramics is unbelievable. Getting to create that 2D image into a 3D piece of art, and finding out you are good at it, or just that you enjoy getting your hands dirty. All of the sculptures you see in museums, someone had to make that by hand, not exactly like pottery but they had to chisel the rock and sand it to make it how they wanted. With other types of art, It’s harder to hide the imperfections, even though you could say, “Oh, I did that on purpose!” Well, you did and you didn’t. You made it look like you did it on purpose (which I have done A LOT!). Art is an escape for me, where I can get away from reality.

One thing I am trying to work on is organization. I suck at organizing stuff, but that will come with adulting, right?….. right? So far, adulting sucks. Don’t grow up kids! It’s a trap! I’ve been an adult for a whole year now and my organization skills have seemed to get worse, I don’t know what happened.  Life gets messy, and when life gets messy, you need to learn to role with what is going on around you. This is a big learning experience for me and I am just going with the flow. This is a big learning experience for me. I would love for you to join me on this rollercoaster of Art, Life, Faith, Doggos, and much more! I am excited to be starting this, so I hope you are excited to continue reading!
